Plant Based for Public Health (PB4PH), Students for Sustainable Waste Reduction at YSPH (SWAY), and the YSPH Sustainability Committee are happy to be hosting a “Repurpose, Revive, Regift” donation drive for the entirety of Yale’s Celebrate Sustainability Week where we will collect food, clothing, and hygiene items. All items will be donated to the Sex Workers and Allies Network (SWAN) and the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (DESK). Let’s do our part in promoting sustainable public health and supporting the health and well-being of our New Haven community!
Donations will be collected every day from October 3-7 between 10 AM - 5 PM at the student lounge on 47 College Street. Those who donate will also receive raffle tickets that will be entered to win prizes such as a HydroFlask, a Yale t-shirt, and BYO gift bags that include a tote bag, a beverage tumbler, a reusable lunchbox, and plantable seeds.
We are calling for donations including:
- Unopened, non-perishable foods and individually wrapped snacks that do not require a microwave
- Individually packaged water, juice, or other drinks
- Clean coats, jackets, pants, footwear, and any other clothing to prepare for colder weather
- Sweaters, hats, scarves, and gloves
- Travel-sized personal and feminine hygiene products
